Water and Groceries
Water
Volunteers should NOT drink the tap water. The ice in local restaurants is made from clean water and should not be a concern, asking for no ice is always an option. Bottled water at supermarkets is very inexpensive. Disposable one-gallon jugs run from 30-45 pesos each. There will always be water at your accommodations and at camp.
Colmados
There will be multiple colmados across the callejon that you can go to for a quick snack or drink.
Colmado Reyna
Right across the street from DREAM Center!
Notes: Sometimes closes for lunch (12pm –2pm)
Supercolmado
Bigger selection than most colmados in the callejon.
Across the street from the entrance to calle 3 (calle gemela)
Grocery Stores
All of the supermercados have similar products, but not all carry everything. Prices on items vary from place to place, so it is smart to comparison shop. Some places take Credit/Debit cards but be sure to have your ID with you.
Supermercado Janet
Largest supermarket in Cabarete, largest selection of vegetables and probably everything else.
